Steinway & Sons, founded in New York 1853, is a true icon in the world of piano. Leading up to the Philidelphia Centennial Exhibition in 1876, they built a magnificent showpiece, of which this instrument is a replica. Another grand piano from the same year is also part of the Chris Maene Collection.
The grand piano is finished in rosewood that was hand-polished. Striking is the beautiful carving at the level of the legs, the pedal piece and the pupiter. The restoration was carried out in our workshop in Ruiselede, which specialises in the construction and restoration of modern grand pianos, historic pianos, pianofortes and harpsichords. This restoration is always done with original materials and in an authentic manner.
The instrument has a unique and characterful sound. This combined with its grandiose appearance makes the grand piano a one-off opportunity for your living room or concert hall.
