Hybrid keyboard with wooden keys
When choosing a digital piano, the keyboard feel is a crucial factor. After all, this determines how well the piano can convey the player's expression and emotion in the music. The GP-510 features the Natural Grand Hammer Action keyboard with quality full-length wooden keys and hammers that move in the same way as in an acoustic piano. When you lift the lid, you can see the hammers in action through a transparent panel as you play. Thanks to this hybrid keyboard with hammers, you can enjoy more smoothness and a higher repetition rate of notes while playing. The keyboard is made of high-quality Austrian spruce wood that was carefully selected. The use of acrylic for the white keys and phenol for the black keys, provides a reassuring and comfortable feeling. The keyboard, developed with renowned German piano builder Bechstein, has triple-sensor operation and can be adjusted to the pianist's playing style in five different levels. All these features allow the Natural Grand Hammer Action keyboard to compete well with hybrid instruments in a higher price range.
Sound and sampling
The GP-510 uses Casio's newly developed AiR Grand sound source that guarantees natural sustain and expressiveness when playing. Casio's multidimensional morphing technology ensures smooth, natural transitions in sound volume depending on the force with which the keys are struck. As with the better digital pianos on the market, you can fully customize the sound through built-in resonance functions, simulated mechanical sounds and the Key Off Simulator.
The GP-510 features 3 samples from renowned concert grand pianos, the Berlin Grand, the Hamburg Grand and the Vienna Grand. In addition, there are another 35 built-in samples including e-pianos, harpsichords, organs, strings and more. You can additionally combine or divide 2 sounds or the treble and bass of the keyboard.
What sets the GP-510 apart from the GP-310 is the integration of Scene Memories. This handy feature allows you to save your own EQ and sound settings in 10 different slots and recall them very quickly.
Grand Acoustic speaker system
The Casio GP-510 uses a Grand Acoustic speaker system which allows the sound reproduction to approximate the power and dynamics of a grand piano. The audio system consists of 6 powerful speakers totaling 100W, which are very carefully positioned. The piano top has an adjustable lid that can be opened, for a fuller sound, like a real grand piano.
